50+ Years of Family Dining Ergonomics Gives Us The Chair That Grows with Your Child™

Eating together as a family builds connection, confidence, and lifelong habits. The iconic Stokke® Tripp Trapp® Chair in Solid Beechwood was engineered by Peter Opsvik to solve a simple problem: allowing children of all ages to sit comfortably at eye level at the main dining table, rather than being isolated on a separate tray unit.

Crafted from premium, sustainably sourced European beech timber, the Tripp Trapp® replaces disposable plastic highchairs with a single, timeless piece of furniture. Its modular design adjusts as your child grows — acting as an elevated newborn cradle, an upright highchair, and an ergonomic adult seat holding up to 136 kg.

Ergonomic Support and The "Solid Floor" Effect

Independent Height and Depth Adjustment: Both the seat and footrest slide along precision wooden grooves to ensure correct 90-degree hip, knee, and ankle alignment at every stage of growth. Securing hips, knees, and ankles at precise 90-degree angles promotes core stability, reduces mealtime restlessness, and supports safe swallowing during weaning.

Grounding Footrest: Acts as a firm floor under dangling feet, providing the physical stability toddlers need to sit still, focus on eating, and develop fine motor skills during self-feeding.

Table-First Integration: Designed without a compulsory permanent tray barrier, the chair slides neatly under standard dining tables to encourage early social interaction, self-feeding, and language development.

Sustainable European Hardwood with a Compact Footprint

100% Solid European Beechwood: Responsibly harvested FSC-certified beech coated in non-toxic, water-based lacquers that wipe clean in seconds.

True Structural Longevity: Replaces short-lived plastic high chairs with a solid timber frame tested to support up to 136 kg (300 lbs). It transitions smoothly from an infant seat into a booster, ergonomic study chair, and functional adult dining seat.

Compact Dining Footprint: At just 47 × 48 cm, it tucks neatly against or under standard dining tables without cluttering narrow dining spaces.

Safe and Low-Maintenance Finish: Finished with non-toxic, water-based, child-safe lacquers that wipe clean easily after daily spills while protecting the natural grain of the wood.
